No Pain: Book 1
When you don't feel pain, what is there to fear? In a world where everyone is missing something: the fear gene, the pain signal, the cage of normal bones. Everyone has an advantage. Regular is no longer part of our dictionary. Regular is obsolete and abnormal is the future. My name is Annalise Star Challenge. My friends call me Star and my abnormality is the no pain signal. I was Part of a group once. We tried to keep order, with all the abnormalities running free, chaos could set in fast. However, the boss gave us a particularly difficult order and things went bad and I ended up getting left behind. I'm not angry and my mission isn't revenge, although I could argue that I have a right to it. My mission is to warn my team before the Idiosyncrasies can execute their plan. The Unordinary
Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. I am working on rewriting this story and when I do there will be the trigger warnings in the correct places.) (small teaser.) No one sees me. I am a ghost. I brush against the wooden fence. No one will believe it was me who disappeared into a fence and appeared on the other side of school. I stare at my brother. He made eye contact with me, confirming my suspicions. We both saw it. My life used to be pretty boring. Everything was average. Normal family, normal looks, normal house, normal job, normal life. The only non-boring aspect of my life was my best friend which was only because she always managed to mess it up somehow. I didn't really mind much because it kept things interesting. That is until she disappeared leaving me to care for her fatherless child with nothing more than a few hundred pounds and a sorry note. She did ruin my old life. She ruined everything that I'd actually cared for. My parents hated the fact that I was 'throwing my life away' for a child that wasn't mine. Not to mention illegally. I dyed my hair blue in rebellion. My own way of saying "F*CK YOU!" ...They kicked me out shortly after. I couldn't find a decent job in the area and the rumors became so vicious that I just left and never looked back. Old life: Destroyed, unraveled, completely gone. Hybrid: The Awakening
Nobody expects something supernatural to happen to them. Those kind of things only happened in comics. Fairy Tales. It turns out that there is so much more to their simple universe than they ever could have imagined. After each finding a strange alien artifact, the teens are suddenly thrusted into an intergalactic war. Alien species everywhere are trying to hunt down the most powerful weapons in the galaxy. And they are the ones in possession of it. When they run into a girl that claims to be from another planet, the three kids learn about the power given to them and the responsibilities that come along with it.
