***SPOILER ALERT***
This is a short homage to Arima Kishou, who recently passed away in the most recent chapter of Tokyo Ghoul :re, ch.85, told from the perspective of Kaneki Ken, who was with him in his last moments. Arima is my favorite TG character, and one of my favorite characters of all time, so many of my personal emotions are added in as well.
At the very bottom of this story, you can read a poem that Kaneki is seen reciting to Arima while saying his final goodbyes, and below that, the symbolism of the poem and how it connects to Arima.
"You're different from what I expected," she said softly.
"How so?" he asked, glancing at her.
"I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare."
He was quiet for a moment before responding. "You matter, Y/n. Don't forget that."
OR
Y/n wakes up in the deadly Squid Game, surrounded by strangers and fighting to survive. What she doesn't know is that the mysterious Frontman is watching her every move through the cameras- and she's caught his attention.
