A world, not known to man, named Linthia. It is entirely different, but also the same. The world has different fauna, flora and styles of living, but also houses the same dominant life forms: humans.
The world is split into eleven kingdoms, those are: Kintā, Jamonikàę, Gläciea, Darkwød, Ligjta, Harmôna, Kallia, Englia, Swêdna, Flo and Päka. Each kingdom has a whole other climate, language and culture.
Six adolescents, named Naomi, Collie, Lloyd, Kestrel, Falcon and Jay, live in entirely different parts of the world. They have never heard of each other, never seen each other and never made contact with one another.
But, one day, a strange old man appears in their lives, and makes them an offer they find hard to decline. For, apparently, the six each have elemental abilities, and have the capability to become an ancient warrior - a Samjā.
They could be brought together, they could hate each other. They could win, they could lose. They could save the world, but they could unknowingly allow it to fall into the hands of the Fal'Cie.
It all relies on Fate.
For over a hundred years, humanity has lived in fear of the monsters that roam the streets, lurking in the drains below. Women and their daughters hide, protected in their homes, while men take their sons through the world, teaching them the responsibilities of having a family to feed and dangers to avoid. No one leaves the home unless it's essential, and most of the world prefers it that way.
Until one girl spends her days perched on her window seat, looking down at the world below and dreaming of a different life. Her eyes are always drawn to the dark, ominous drains in the street, the ones that often blink open to swallow and person whole. One day, that person is her little brother, snatched right in front of her from their arms of their father and gone forever.
When a person is snatched, they never return, and life goes on without them. But she can't accept that. Breaking all the rules, all the things she's ever known, she braves the world outside her little townhouse and goes on a mission into the darkness to find her brother. Only, it's soon her that becomes the one lost to the drains.
To survive she must rediscover her world, and in the process, rediscover herself. She will be reunited with old friends, gain new ones, find out deeper secrets about her past than she ever could have imagined, and learn that the world is even more corrupt than she always thought.

This story contains sexist ideology, mention of cheating, some gruesome scenes, and a whole lot of monsters and darkness. It isn't overly mature... there isn't much explicit language or sexual scenes, but there is a bit of violence, so just keep that in mind... and despite all that negativity, ENJOY!
