Anneliese Asante is furious when her vacation plans are ruined. Instead of spending her summer lounging in various European Hotels with her three best pals, she is instead forced to go with her mother to country she has barely stepped foot inside in more than a decade and a half. Angry and bitter at her plans being ruined, Anneliese tries her best to remain sullen and angry, but that soon proves difficult as she finds herself warming up to her motherland as she learns of her heritage. And maybe the gorgeous boy next door might also have a hand in her change of heart. Just as Anneliese begins to actually enjoy herself...a secret that has been buried for almost two decades resurfaces, and Anneliese's newfound happiness is threatened. On the brink of losing herself, Anneliese must journey with her family to the past in hopes of saving her future. But when everything is let out in the open, will Anneliese choose to forgive and move on, or will she forever dwell in the past and her hurt?
