Kiara is a functional drug addict who just got accepted into Harvard Medical School. Apart from being addicted to Vicodin, Kiara has always pleased her family in many ways unimaginable. Being valedictorian of her class at Stanford University, opening up her own clinic in Uganda, and receiving the Abraham Flexner Award for Distinguished Service for Medical Education, Kiara's family vicariously lived through her successes. Deep down inside, medicine was not Kiara's passion. It was painting that took her to heights that nothing else could. Painting is what allowed her to fully express herself and feel slightly better in the process. But painting certainly wouldn't pay the bills like being a doctor would. Kiara had some big decisions to make.
Jamal is a former functional heroin addict with a loving heart. He's been 6 months sober and has been helping others struggling to overcome their addictions as well. Apart from being a photographer, he has been a supportive friend of Kiara's since the beginning of time. He has been friends with her since they were in diapers and never left her side.
Kiara recently got accepted into Harvard's Medical School and invited Jamal to her celebratory party. That is where their story lies and begins...
