They were promised that their loved ones would not be affected by the experiment, no matter what the outcome was. This was good, as the experiment failed--or so they thought.
For one, it was her first child. For another, his second-born. For a third, her third. For the fourth, her fourth, and for the fifth, his first. They were all born with strange powers--powers that nobody could explain, and that put everybody around them in danger. Taken from their parents, the children were raised apart from society. They served a particular purpose. Nothing would go wrong. Until something does... or a lot of somethings.
