Cover by @ThatOneBookClub Great job!
When a strange student appears at the Headmaster's school one day, a fogged past hiding his identity, unexplained events keep happening. At the same time, in Avery's court, a young girl wakes up, her past also forgotten. But unlike the other child, she knows she has something that the others don't.
While Sean Abbott adjusts to the world of wizardry, knowing somehow that he doesn't belong, and often using knives instead of the magic the Headmaster claims he has, Melissa Willow adjusts to life as a pirate.
However, when each of them make grave mistakes, allowing them to learn who they really are, so do their leaders. Why did this happen? It must have been the other's fault!

Herera, captain of the Purple Pearl, and her crew continue their adventures around the world. On their magical ship, they chase adventure, meddle with injustice and search for ways to become stronger in order to save as many as possible who have lost their way.
To protect their strongest crew member, Herera and part of her crew are secretly studying the effects of Dead Magic, a strong form of magic that their enemies keep using to get stronger and more threatening.
Their research lead them to a small island in the South Pacific, where they immediately get sucked into a war on three sides between a small port town, an enchanted wood and an underwater world.
