Sasha Volkov is a wild child. Raised by the leader of a gang on the streets of Russia after her parents were murdered. She learned how to fight, and survive in the real world. When she got older, she wanted to go out on our own. Her "father", however, was not about to let that happen. So she helped him kick the bucket (even if it was a little early in his life). On the run, she travels to America, where she creates a new identity for herself. She also creates a new name for herself by stealing, fighting, and vanishing. Parodia, they call her. Latin for "illusion". At first she didn't like it, but soon it began growing on her, and now it's part of her. The F.B.I. knows exactly who she is, however, and threatens to deport her back Russia. She strikes a deal with them. They will allow her to stay in the U.S. if she aids them in catching a thief that has stolen the original American flag sewn by Betsy Ross in 1776. The thief plans to sell the flag for 2 trillion dollars, and Sasha must decide whether to help, or flee.

I stepped forward and asked, "Where do you want me?" It took me a second to realize what I just said. Shit! I placed a hand on my crimson face and muttered, "Get your head out of the gutter! You know what I meant." He laughed, his voice sounded hoarse and deep even when he's laughing. I peeked at him from the gap I made between my fingers. He was close. So close. He grabbed my hand and took me to the bed. Damn! It did sound sexy. His shirt was loose. Too large for me, and it hung on me like a cloth hung on a hanger. He sat on the bed, criss crossed and pulled me to him. ♡♡♡♡♡ Cassandra didn't come to Brinkley mansion to belong. She came to survive the year and leave. Then there's Easton Brinkley. Arrogant. Reckless. Completely off-limits. And from the moment she arrives, he makes one thing clear-she doesn't belong in his world. He has his reasons. And she's not supposed to care. But Cassandra isn't the type to back down. And Easton isn't used to being challenged. What starts as resentment turns into something neither of them planned... and neither of them can afford. Because some people come with complications. And some feelings were never meant to happen ------ ☆ Copyright 2020 @Books_and_nerds (DestinyK.)
