Living in a World of Rejection

I always knew there was a story somewhere in my head, I just needed to chip away at everything inside of me to find it. You can imagine how I felt when the concept finally came to me during a nap. Of course, I would just have to get passed the first chapter, something I always found to be difficult. However, this time, the words seemed to flow out of me and I realized I wasn't going to be stopping anytime soon. The day I finished writing was one of the greatest days in my life. What came afterward... not so much.

What happens once the book that has been so precious to you is finally finished? Editing, rewrites, more editing, more rewrites. All of this is now done. What next?

Now we need to get it published. Here we enter a world filled with rejection as literary agents and publishers analyze your work and decide based on blurbs, a few pages, or even a few chapters that they don't like your story enough to represent/publish it.

How does one get through this kind of rejection? This is a diary of sorts going over the rejections I receive, how I cope, and what keeps me going. I hope that you find it inspiring to not give up. Your acceptance is out there. You just need to find it.
