Annabeth is a normal girl living a normal life, except she's an orphan but she doesn't care. She's been living with mama Claire and her daughter Becky and Catherine since she was 9 months old. Mama Claire told Annabeth that her parents died in a car crash and Annabeth's moms friend sent her to the orphanage house when she got the news her parents died. She has a best friend named Emily. She's a friend that any girl would be lucky to have, but there's something Emily's hiding from Annabeth. And Emily's not the only one hiding something from Annabeth. Catherine is also hiding something from Annabeth. But what happens when Annabeth finds out her parents are not dead and what happens when a normal girl is actually not as normal as she looks..

She never knew her biological father, and her mother, Lauren Volkov, abandoned her when she was young as well; nine, to be exact. She was born with a rare form of Congenital Insensitivity to Pain and was unable to feel physical pain, so she never complained about something as simple as a paper cut or a stubbed toe since her brain didn't register it. She was diagnosed with anxiety and bipolar I disorder around that time as well and that's when her life was going 'downhill'. Over the years, she was also diagnosed with parasomnia, ADHD, paranoid personality disorder, and acute stress disorder.
