The world is in the age of Peace. It is a society of order, uniformity, and equality. Everyone is made to be the same, upstanding citizen that will fulfill their given duty to the society. They are to follow the rules, marry who they've chosen/who chose them at seventeen, and allow the Watchmen to "protect them". It is, as the President says, Utopia. Crissy Javis doesn't believe a single bit of that nonsense. Crissy Javis is a normal, seventeen year old citizen. But Crissy Javis is different in one way... She dreams. Crissy lives on Earth by day, but finds herself in a made up, dream world called Lidania, every night. There she hangs out with her best friend--Jerimiah, Lover--James, and honorary sister--Liliana. But what happens when that dream world isn't just a dream after all? Crissy must leave her home and her mother to travel to the place of her dreams where a great evil is is rising. It is her duty to save Liliana, James, and everything she loves before it is too late. Crissy is DIFFERENT.

Elodie's life changes at the turn of a doorknob when she is forced into joining a secret organization that claims to be protecting the Earth from aliens. But with every step she takes, she finds the organization, or the facility, as they call it, becoming more and more suspicious. When a mysterious death occurs, revealing a well-concealed secret, things quickly go downhill as humanity's future is placed on the shoulders of a single gaggle of teenagers. *** I hear a sigh from the other side of the door, "Miss. Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. So, call me stupid, but I sit down. "I am from a space organization that protects civilians from . . . outside threats." *** Beautiful cover made by @mahana258! This is considered the 3rd version of the story, I am editing the 4th version for publication. The official book is planned to come out somewhere around 2026-2027 but I still have to finish the manuscript. I posted this story on RoyalRoad and Fiction press, I haven't looked at either site in years. A life full of joy and tragedy, Vila's story begins with the very person she despises. Thankfully, a man by the name of Sommi rescues her from the clutches of her master. Years go by with her bubble of ignorance to what goes on anywhere else and she lives happily on the outskirts of Kai village. This all changes when she comes home from the market one day to find her little hut ransacked and her hero, Sommi, gone. A man named Vensen haunts her every thought as she travels the country of Aishy and the void itself in search of her father figure. Many strange and horrifying events take place as Vila also encounters revelations of who she is and the family she comes from. None of it makes sense, and yet there is a hidden string of order in it all. -------------------------------------------- Written by Robin Dobi, all rights reserved as of 2010 (c) (first draft) 3rd revision. First book of trilogy/chronicles. Picture was made soley by me! Any and all copies of this story without the author's permission or knowledge is illegal. Those who are bold enough to commit such a crime will be prosecuted! Rated as mature content for language, violence, and dark concepts. 16 years of age and up is the suggested maturity. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! ---------- --Quick notes: I have finally finished this book on it's third remake, but I still would appreciate the feedback and be happy to make any changes that would make the story better!^.^ --The cast members I list off are voice actors because when I write, I picture the story as an anime; hope this doesn't ruin anything.
The Woodlands (#1 THE WOODLANDS SERIES) (COMPLETE) by LaurenTaylor3
41 parts Complete
Rosa never thought she'd make it to sixteen... When being unique puts you in danger and speaking your mind can be punishable by death, you might find yourself fighting to survive. Sixteen-year-old Rosa lives in one of the eight enclosed cities of The Woodlands. Where the lone survivors of a devastating race war have settled in the Russian wilderness because it's the only scrap of land left habitable on the planet. In these circular cities, everyone must abide by the law or face harsh punishment. Rosa's inability to conform and obey the rules brands her a leper and no one wants to be within two feet of her, until she meets Joseph. He's blonde, fair-skinned, green-eyed, and the laid-back complete opposite of Rosa. She's never met anyone quite like him, and she knows that spells danger. But differences weren't always a bad thing. People used to think being unique was one of the most treasured of traits to have. Now, the Superiors, who ruthlessly control the concrete cities with an iron fist, are obsessed with creating a 'raceless' race. They are convinced this is the only way to avoid another war. Any anomalies must be destroyed. The Superiors are unstoppable and can do anything they want. After all, they are considered superheroes by the general public. But not everyone sees them this way. When they continue to abuse their power by collecting young girls for use in their secret, high-tech breeding program, they have no idea that one of those girls has somehow managed to make friends even she didn't know she had. And one man will stop at nothing to save her.
