"Shadows are not nearly as harmless as they may seem."

-•-

"Forget what your teachers and parents told you about shadows. It's all a lie. They were trying to save your skin by making you ignorant. I'm trying to save your skin by enlightening you. If you chose to keep reading you will fear the dark once again. If you choose to continue living as an ignorant soul...well, they can still get you."

-•-

Avery White has feared the dark all of her life. She hated the nighttime, she hated rainy days, and she hated shadows.

She had never been able to explain her fears...or at least, not to normal people. No one would believe her, because they couldn't see what she could see. The faces. The hands. The people.

Darkness has always been associated with evil. But no one really knows the true meaning behind it. Avery didn't either. Until she met the Hunters.

Darkness spreads as evil grows. The more Avery learns, the more she fears. The more dangerous she becomes.

Never underestimate the poor soul you know who fears the dark. They see much more than you do, after all.

But remember. They can still find you.

*His eyes were the first thing I noticed as he looked up at me. Such a dark blue they reminded me of sapphires. My heart jumped at the feel of them as he held my gaze. I was in a trance unable to look away and it was as if he could see into the very soul that gave my body life. My skin crawled with goosebumps as his eyes changed from curious to predatory in a matter of moments. A shudder passing through me as my heart beat faster. He could see me. Like really see me and I cringed at the gut wrenching fear that ran through me, watching as his tongue ran smoothly over his lips. He looked like a predator about to hunt his prey. Me being that prey. His grin was intimidating as he spoke to the boy next to him and began to come my way.* Lacey Yasmine just moved to the small town of Moonlight Creek with her aunt seeking new lives in a place where they could start over. A place where their demons would be safely locked away behind the barrier. A place where they wouldn't dare to follow. Lacey could feel it like she felt everything. Until unforeseen situations take place and the life she worked so hard to rebuild begins to crumble changing for all time. Change was good. Book 1 of The Shadow Series. Myths, that's what the humans called it, but for Ashe it quickly became her reality. Her life changing transformation narrowed her paths down to two; She could either embrace her fates and save the people she's grown to love, or she can walk away and live a somewhat normal life while others suffer the consequences. How far is she willing to go to create peace where there's never been any? Will she even create peace? Or will she help encourage the most brutal war the Shadow Realms have ever experienced? Several years of Asheland's childhood had disappeared from her memory. She assumed it was her brain trying to protect her from a traumatic event, although that's true it's not exactly what she expected and her brain wasn't necessarily the cause. After being homeless until she was sixteen years old, then living in a boat dock for four years, she had finally found her home in a cottage in the near-by mountains of Wolf Creek. Everything seemed to be going well. However, as a list of secrets begin unraveling when Ashe gives in to her overwhelming urges to visit the island that terrified almost every citizen in Wolf Creek, her life becomes more complicated than she could've ever imagined. All of this just because she was turning twenty-one. Nothing was as it had ever seemed. * excerpt from the book * { "Why do you make such reckless, impulsive decisions?" The old man asked as we watched the moon. "The world could end tomorrow and everyone expects me to live in fear today? There's no life to live inside the box of fear, there's no freedom in there," I replied softly. }

BOOK 2 'We were both breathing heavily and there was silence throughout the crowd. No cheering, no booing - not even a whisper. Finally, when I felt Jenny's hand on my back, I had an overwhelming sense of fatigue. My vision was clouded in black spots, and I could tell Nova was struggling too, because she spread her paws, shaking her head and squeezing her eyes shut. Then, she stumbled to the ground, causing an abrupt roar of cheering on my side of the fans. "You have alot to learn, little one." I growled softly as I passed her, supported by Jenny and James. "That was wicked, Shadow. You should do that all the time, the way you.." James drones on about how awesome the battle was, though I stopped listening when he tried to act out the scene, and I just nodded as if I understood everything he was saying. "Where do you need to go? You're pretty cut up." Jenny murmured, stroking my fur as I padded slowly down to the Black Lake. "I need to hunt." I muttered weakly.' ------------------------------------------------------ Shadow Claw is in her second year of the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and strange mishaps begin to happen.
