Skye Jones was your average fourteen year old. Her boyfriend, Liam cheated on her with the cheer captain Amanda and they beat her until she could hardly move. However she was saved by Adam Gontier, who was fourteen too. They began to date until a tragedy happened on the way to a fancy restaurant just outside of the city. Adam gets seriously injured and his surgery will cost him his memory, but if he doesn't get the surgery he will lose his life. Ten years later Adam has moved on and joined a band called Three Days Grace. One day he sees Skye again and she's with another guy. The sight of her brings back their memories and Adam does everything he can to win her back before its too late.

Ryan is the captain of the basketball team at their school, so guys see him like he's a god and girls act like he walks on water. If they were to date, all eyes would be on her- she would be under everyone's scrutiny. So she's kept her feelings a secret, and she's done her best to suppress her emotions these past years, but she's realized that she's been so caught up in making people not notice her that she didn't realize how lonely she would be when no one was watching. Now meet Ryder Knight. School bad boy. Quarterback captain and heartthrob. The kind that wears a leather jacket and has tattoos all over his arms. The one who shows up to school riding a motorcycle. Just your average run of the mill "if you get involved with this guy, you will meet some serious trouble" kind of male. Well, too bad for Violet, she's stuck with him now. After all of the years of pushing away her feelings for Ryan because of her fear of being seen, she is now all anyone can look at- because of Ryder. Because of him, she can feel their stares, and she hates him for it. The longer they spend time together, the more Ryder starts to realize he actually enjoys being around her-despite her snarky comments about how much she despises him. And if Violet is being completely honest with herself, she's also starting to realize she might not actually hate the fact that people are noticing her now, but hate the way Ryder makes her feel.
