Found in front of the orphanage, she has been an orphan her whole life. A mostly ordinary human girl. Until a few months before the Claiming. Basically a huge auction of every human who turned 16 the year before, always held on January 1st.When Ember hits her birthday in August, she becomes even weirder, and even more seperated from the others at the orphanage. Already able to see the shadow creatures, strange animals with the ability to turn into shadows, when in their shadow form, something that should be impossible, she now has a strange craving.
