June never agreed on letting her mother get married to an aspiring business man in Hawaii. For one thing, he was way too cocky, he had too much money, and nothing was more infuriating than that charming smile he gave everyone within a ten foot radius. Most importantly, her mom's fiancé lives in the wrong place. Sure, Hawaii is beautiful, but now that June's finally figured out her place in the school's social latter, moving is one of the absolute furthest thing from her mind. She's going to have to leave behind a budding relationship, her whopping total of three friends and is suddenly caught choosing between which parent she will live with; her newly married mother, or newly out gay father.
If that's not enough drama to drive her crazy, her mother's secrets about her past will. It was bad enough watching her family fall apart at the hands of unchangeable differences, so how the heck is she supposed to hop on the bandwagon to build a new one?

The world is changing every hour. The sun rises every morning. The moon takes its place every night. There is always a light in the sky, whether its sunlight or moonlight. But what happens when even on the brightest of days you cannot find the light in your soul to smile honestly? I have felt that way too. Every hour, the world changes, every minutes counts, every second counts. Each day is a new beginning, but only if you find a way to let the sun rise each morning, and to let the moonlight shine through the dark night. My life is a strange as you'd like to think. But to me, as you will read, I think of it as just a daily adventure, and each day is another obstacle that has been overcome.
