Midnight Static: A Collection of Thoughts Written in the Dark

Growing up I used to be scared of the static on the television. It was loud, jarring and made me flinch everytime I stumbled across it while my small fingers clumsily pushed the buttons of my remote in an effort to get the sound to go away.

Now as I lay in bed I hear the static all around me. The sound covers me like a thick wool blanket, suffocating me in its warmth. And I no longer have a remote to help me stop it's incessant ringing. I just close my eyes and become consumed by it all.
