"It all started when I turned twelve. Up until then, I was near enough a normal kid. Despite my unusual name, Eli, I fit in pretty well in normal life in London..."

Until they came.

Without warning, I'm taken from my home and my family on my birthday, to a place that's 'safe' for kids like me. Kids with special abilities. I am one of the six in the ever changing group of kids that posses the powers over the elements... and I'm destined to die when I reach eighteen. With a traitor in our midst, life at the secluded castle that's our home becomes even harder. Can me and some of my newly found friends find a cure for our affliction, and the traitor, or will it be too late for one of us?

When the life you know ends in six years, you begin to appreciate every second.

WARNING: CONTAINING AMOUNTS OF SASS PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO MANKIND In the city of NYC--- Ok. Hold up. First of all, New York City. What, are ya gonna assume everyone here knows what NYC is? Anyway, this is about two people. I can almost hear you rolling your eyes. Another cliché teen fiction with a bad boy and a good girl? Nope. This is about superheroes. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. And if you can name all the references in this book, you truly are a gift to mankind. Fangirl out.

...something felt off. Despite the warmth of the celebration and the thoughtfulness of my friends, a strange unease settled over me. The journal in my hands, while beautiful and personal, felt like a key to something deeper. A weighty reminder that even with all the laughter and joy, there were layers beneath my ordinary life that I had yet to uncover. I opened the journal and flipped through the blank pages, wondering what I could possibly fill it with. As I reached the last page, a folded piece of paper slipped out. It was crisp and unfamiliar, not something I would have expected in a brand-new journal. Curiosity piqued, I unfolded it carefully. The note was handwritten in neat, flowing script: _"Your life is about to change. The key is within you, but you must remember who you are first. Happy birthday, Eli. You are more important than you think."_ A chill ran down my spine as I stared at the words. Who could have written this? How did they know I'd get this journal? The sense of unease that had been gnawing at me all day surged forward, wrapping around my chest like a vice. This is how it began: on what should have been a simple, forgettable birthday, I found myself thrust into a mystery far greater than anything I could have imagined. The note in the journal was just the first clue-a breadcrumb leading me toward something I could never have expected. Whatever this was, whoever this girl was, one thing was certain: my world had shifted, and there was no turning back. I was Eli, and my story was just beginning. --- Note: This story was brought to life with the help of ChatGPT, whose insights and suggestions helped guide the development of Eli's journey and the world around him. Together, we shaped a tale that blends the ordinary with the extraordinary, as Eli discovers that even the most unassuming lives can hold the keys to something far greater.

Wren died at 14 years old, the prime of his youth. Struggling to be understood and understand others, he's reincarnated into a world of superpowers, superheroes, and super villains. Gifted a power he changes the dynamic of how he interacts with others, he has only one goal in mind...to be the most powerful. (This is a rewrite of one of my older unfinished stories on Quotev, I've lacked motivation to write new stories so I decide to rewrite one with some minor and major changes. Hope you like it.) (Also I'm not autistic, and I'm trying to write a higher-functioning autistic boy. Also I'm a straight woman, not a gay man, in my original write of the story I randomly decided to add gay romance and I'm continuing in order to push myself out of comfort zones and for people into that. So sorry if that may be semi-inaccurate :P)
