In the future an outbreak of infectious diseases causes the world's population to drop drastically. While the empire is overthrown by a bunch who call themselves 'Existence' the world slowly starts to freeze over, eradicating a vast majority of the viruses and people. The survivors are separated into several large cities enclosed by walls known as the 'Gates'. A new virus is introduced that turns the host lethal once it takes over, it slowly infects the world once more.
A girl called Riley Alderman whom was cast outside of her home's walls deemed insane, tries to make her way behind the walls once more but is found out. With the help of her friend Leo Harris and her companion Kiki the trio escape and make their way to Third Gate where their destiny awaits them.

He has to be careful because there are infected individuals that may look like him, but they are smarter and stronger than him. These "Infected" look down at you with their sharp purple eyes, as they make you join them. When, he was walking down the city, he discovers a person with beautiful blue eyes accompanied by two infected individuals. They discover him and in the conflict he breathes once without his air filter. Next day he discovers that he's coming to his death as he looked at his own eyes, but the girl that was beside the Infected, kept her blue eyes. Now, Marcus is in a desperate need of a cure, and answers.Complete

This results in many people living in the Slums struggling to survive and avoiding Officers on the daily. Officers will find any excuse to arrest people and send them to work camps. Todd and Shai are two friends living out of the Slums. They like to pretend to be rich and sneak into the cities to try and steal. Todd is caught one day, and sent to a camp. Shai is determined to do something no Rat has done before: break a Rat out of a work camp. She comes across Mikko, a man kicked out of the city for using outlawed technology. He agrees to help Shai if she helps him uncover the missing Prince so that he is allowed back into the city.Complete
