I grew up with a father who sailed across the ocean. Despite my mother and me accompanying him, there were times he was alone and we sent first letters and then as technology progressed emails.
That's when I fell in love with words and their meaning to different people.
Today when I cannot open my mouth, I lift a pen. Yet even then sometimes the letters never reach their destination. This is their new destination, their grave of peace. Here I can bury the past by acknowledging it.
