For Tony, life has always been consistent, if not perfect. He expects it to be largely the same after he comes out-which would be something to celebrate, surely. Nope. Homophobia comes creeping out of every corner, and suddenly Tony has no idea where he stands. Fairly popular means nothing when you're gay. Fairly athletic means nothing when it's you against a gang. Fairly smart means nothing when no one wants to work with you. His best friend since pretty much forever wants nothing to do with him. His brother (and legal guardian) makes no sense. To Tony, it feels like everything's gone wrong since he came out. But as he starts to understand the circumstances of his life and the world around him, it turns out they may have been that way for a very long time.
