Driving back home one night after going to the doctor and finding out Perrie couldn't conceive, Zayn and Perrie stopped at the scene of a car accident. They instantly called for help and rushed out of the car to help the injured people; one of them being a two year old girl and the other a female who looked no older than 18 years old. Comforting the child, Perrie took care of Elsie while Zayn worked on keeping Alaina breathing. One the ambulance arrived, Perrie thought this was the last time she'd see Baby Elsie.

After that night, Zayn and Perrie had decided to adopt a child from an orphanage center; feeling grief to think of all the children that have lost their parents in a situation like that, or even worse. A few months later, they finally decided to make it official and found saw the baby that they'd found the night of the accident. Perrie was sad, automatically assuming that the child had lost her mother --- but in reality, Alaina had been in a coma for months now. Zayn and Perrie decided to take her in. Now, one year later, the couple are now married and their adoption had been confirmed.

Little did they know that Alaina would actually wake up.
