Beacon Hills, California is known throughout the supernatural world to be a place where the impossible is possible and where you're darkest dreams come true. Along with the place being the stuff of nightmares it also is a literal beacon for the supernatural, which is why Piper finds herself so drawn to it.

So, Piper packs up her things and leaves her always working mother and the cold snowy town in Minnesota to live with her father, Bobby Finstock in Beacon Hills. Piper realizes that now that she lives there she may feel more at home, but she'll have to keep many secrets from her father who has no idea what she can do. And she likes it that way.

Piper is able to keep her secret well hidden, but when new friends begin prying at her life she'll understand that it is impossible to keep a secret in this town.
