The trio and friends return to Hogwarts to finish their final year; it seems at last that they might finally have an uneventful, purposeful year of schooling, at least until Draco Malfoy's world is turned upside down by a family secret. His mother was a Veela, and so is he; now he's in a rather extraordinary predicament. Veelas are matched for life with one person, and he doesn't get to choose who it is.  But it gets worse for him; if he doesn't find 'the one' in time, he won't live to become 18. This should be good...

She had been called down to Emergency for a 6 month old infant boy, the original diagnosis was splinching as he had been apparated in with an injured adult but the minute Hermione looked at him she knew better and immediately cast the counter curse and began healing the open wound on the child's chest. Someone had cast a sectumsempra on him. What sort of person would do that to a baby? It couldn't have been an accident. The hit had been dead on and with a target that small it had to have been done on purpose. Draco returned for reasons only known to him and his family, he was part Veela, and all this time he had known who his Mate was, but was selfish. He only wanted someone like him, but after the war He realized how awful it would be to have someone similar to him. As Half-Veela, his Veela senses were heightened emotions and feeling as if his heart could burst with joy whenever he saw her, but he had been able to control it and hide it until this year. Half Veela won't fully come into their 'inheritance' of being most like full Veela until their seventeenth year. It was his last year to get her to fall in love with him or he would die on his 18th birthday.
