We are in the near future, and the world is obsessed with Gunpla, the hobby of building and customizing plastic models of mobile suits from the Gundam franchise. A new competition, called the Gundam Build Competitors Tournament, is announced, where the best Gunpla builders and fighters from around the world are invited to compete on a remote island named Ark. The island is equipped with a state-of-the-art system that allows the Gunpla to move and fight in realistic environments, simulating various scenarios from the Gundam series. The winner of the tournament will receive a huge prize and the title of the ultimate Gunpla master.
The main protagonist is Leo, a young and talented Gunpla builder who loves the original Mobile Suit Gundam series. He is selected to participate in the tournament, along with his childhood friend and rival, Yua, who prefers the newer Gundam series. They are joined by other contestants, such as Ray, an aloof Gunpla fighter who uses a customized Guncannon; Kisho, a cheerful and energetic Gunpla enthusiast who uses a colorful Haro; and Ninamarie, a genius and selfish Gunpla engineer who uses a sophisticated Wing Gundam.
As the tournament progresses, Leo and his friends face various challenges and enemies, such as wild animals, rogue Gunpla fighters, natural disasters, and even a secret organization that wants to sabotage the tournament and use the island's system for their own nefarious purposes. Along the way, they also learn more about themselves, their Gunpla, and the true meaning of friendship and passion.
