Sage Rhodes is just a normal city kid in the 1990s, living in a small apartment, fighting with her twin brother Aaron, and about to enter high school. That is until a mysterious man shows up at her door and an old lady starts trying to kill her and her brother in an elevator. The two start discovering strange things that only they can do, and even stranger friends. It gets even weirder when they wake up in an abandoned house and everybody in their city is suddenly dressing and talking different. I mean, that's just totally wack, even for New York City.
