But after Rick and Michonne left, presuming Ron to be dead, the walkers stopped biting Ron, treating him as one of their own. Ron got himself up, making his way out of Alexandria. He assumed Rick would kill him if he knew he wasn't dead. Ron went and sat in the forest, waiting to succumb to his bites. But then a man named Negan showed up and patched Ron up. After Ron survived his bites, he quickly moved up in the ranks of the saviors due to his immunity and ability to walk among walkers unnoticed.
