On the island of Avaldon, pious villagers worship the Ocean. Mer has finally settled into her new life with the Ocean when a rebellious young Siren joins their sisterhood and sparks a chain of events that leads Mer and a group of Sirens to try and escape the Ocean. With the help of the sea witch, Una, they discover a spell that will allow them to leave the Ocean if a Siren with a heart of ice can find love on land in three days.
