Octavia Argent knew she was a witch for as long as she could remember. Growing up in sunny southern California, by day she was just like every other muggle, learning math and writing essays. At home, however, her mother educated her on the history and theory of magic, never actually letting her practice. Tavy always knew she was a witch, but she never knew she wanted to be one until the day her mother moved them both back to London to reconnect with her roots. An imposing visit from Ministry Investigators forced Tavy's mother to acknowledge her past and compelled Tavy into enrolling at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
