Belle is a princess. Princesses are supposed to be kind, soft spoken, generous, fair, charming, and polite, according to her mother. But above all, princesses are supposed to be beautiful. Which is why her parents named her Belle, a name that means beauty. Unfortunately, Belle isn't beautiful like her lady in waiting and best friend, Elinor, who is often mistaken for the princess. Besides her long, pretty hair, Belle is extremely plain looking, and she wishes more than anything to be beautiful. But when she is granted her wish, it doesn't go exactly the way she expected. She begins to wonder, is beauty everything, after all?
