Julie Sanders is your typical snarky, sarcastic 18 year old girl, studying at Pengrove High. And while her best friends are loaded with money, her family's financial state sucks, to put it bluntly. That's until she scores a job at a small café, only to realize that her boss's son is Luke Hastings.

The universe just really doesn't give that girl a break, does it?

When Julie's forced to spend time with Luke, she unravels secrets about him that nobody bothered to discover. But as Julie starts receiving anonymous notes from a cryptic source, her dark past resurfaces, and she starts questioning if what Luke told her is a big fat lie, and if her newfound friend Sam could ever be trusted.
