So, I planned on posting a chapter a month, but I've run into a terrible case of writer's block on this... I do plan on finishing this project, but unfortunately I can't guarantee any deadlines. I'm so sorry, I know that at least one or two people were really enjoying this one. Please feel free to enjoy what is already here. I look forward to continuing this journey with you all!

The story you are about to be told is not a happy one.
It does not have a sweet ending, nor has it any perfect role models.
There is destruction, heartache, and horrible secrets lost to time.
Beware the darkness that may entice you to crave these things.
For this is the story of my greatest failure, and the loss of things most precious.
But if you should seek the light, do not fear to read on.
For even in the cover of night, the stars spell out the truth.
Even when all the world is dark, one light shall always remain.
A light that I once rejected. A light that brought me home.
A source of hope that alone lives beyond the decay of time.
It may seem fantastic, mystical, or perhaps foolish to the skeptic.
Yet I am a skeptic myself, and I believe.
Not because I am weak of mind, or because of a blind faith.
No. It is because I have tasted and seen.
For the greatest power I have ever known came not from my quest for power...
But from my defeat.
