"Why do you always hide from me?" His fingers were still gently holding her chin. He wanted that night to be different, he wanted to allow himself to feel things, for just one evening.

She cast her eyes down. "I'm not hiding."

"Then look at me, Sophia..." She took in a deep breath and drew her eyes upwards, looking at him through her mascara laced lashes. His fingers fluttered across her skin and he placed his palm gently on her cheek. He brought his face closer and rested his forehead on hers as if he were trying to fight the pull between them. "What are you doing to me?" His voice was barely a whisper.
