The Underground wasn't built in a day, but it fell in one. Monster after monster turned to dust as the Human fulfilled their bloodlust. From the weakest to the strongest, from the most kindhearted pacifists to the mightiest warriors, from the queen to the superstar. Beginning to end. But in the end, the only one left who could stop the Human was the one who had nothing left to fight for. Sans' victory was an empty one. His brother was dead. TORIEL was dead. Undyne was dead. Everyone he knew was dead. Alphys' story was a similar one. When the Underground was saved, she didn't see it that way. The Underground had lost it's spark when Mettaton fell, and she had lost hers when Undyne did. 
In the end, it was the two weakest monsters in the Underground who were left for each other. In a world with nothing left, they pulled each other from the brink.

Bloodfall (An Undertale AU) by BlackStormWolf

Ever since the death of his younger brother. Things have gone downhill in the surface world for Sans. Alphys died a few months after Papyrus to a disease, Mettaton and Undyne, especially Undyne, had fallen into a depression. Flowey dissapeared into mt. Ebott, not to be found and Sans is fighting depression and insanity. One day, Sans discovers a suspect to his brother's death. A being that is trapping anyone who had either fallen into Mt. Ebott or stayed behind in snowdin for a while. Sans, along with Frisk and Undyne, go into the underground themselves to confront this being. They must encounter the Bloodfall that traps and kills anyone who dares pass by waterfall. (This takes place after a true pacifist run if one killed Sans in a Genocide run, but reset their game before getting to Asgore(I did this in a way to quit the Genocide route). This is if Frisk choses to do this the Pacifist way. I might make a Genocide one in Story Shorts. Also, My Sans is a human, but feel free to interprate him as a Skeleton if you ever choose to use this AU. Just credit me!)

How could a few measly children stand to this supposedly immortal foe and save the Underground from destruction? Is it even possible to do so? That means no Soriel, Papyton, etc. The only ships are Torgore (in the past) and Alphyne. •This is NOT an x reader. I heavily dislike those types of stories. The reader will have no part in this. •This exists outside of canon to an extreme. For example, Frisk is the second human and not the eighth. •There will be OCs, but only for a few humans and they still technically exist in normal Undertale. •There is a sequel. I'm planning on rewriting it after this one, as it is much more random and definitely needs it. Clanky, plot holes/retconning, etc. It's more of an OC thing, to explore them and their issues, than an Undertale thing, but it has its similarities. •There will be some explicitives. Long ago, two races ruled over the Earth. Humans and monsters. At least, that's the story we all know. There was another race. Technically, they were monsters. Skeleton monsters to be exact. Humans shunned them because they were monsters. Monsters shunned them because humans had skeletons. In retaliation, the skeletons split into two different races. The Surface Skeletons and the Abyss Skeletons. The Surface Skeletons reaches out to both monsters and humans. However, when the war started, they were some of the first monsters attacked and many were killed when they fought with the other monsters. Only a handful were sealed underground but without the Sun to strengthen their bones, the skeletons suffered until they received anonymous help. Very few survived to this point and slowly, they died out. The Royal Scientist at the time and his wife tried to have children. Each time left them severely weakened. Each child dusted until the wife gave up her life to bring a great skeleton into the world. That child is the last of his kind. The Abyss Skeletons shunned all other monsters and humans, considered them all demons. Their society was alike human society long ago. Divided. They believe they are strong and emotions only weaken. The class system was rigid and they possessed a kill or be killed attitude to all other monsters and humans. They thrived underground and ended up building their society in the Underground's own Abyss. It is a shame that only their leader can reclaim their heir from the corruption caused by those demons.
