She was there for Katniss when her dad was in the terrible mine accident, and Katniss was there for her when her brother Leo was sent away as a tribute in the 73rd Hunger Games. Now Pommie is faced with another reaping, hoping that she wouldn't get sent away just as her brother did. But her best friend Katniss has to go instead. Join Pommie as she feels the void more present than ever and can do nothing but helplessly watch her best friend fight for her life, just as her brother did, only hoping that she would succeed.

We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination.
