When the human population exceeds its carrying capacity, what do you do with the extra beings? According to the government, brainwashing them and using them for military purposes as mindless drones is the answer.

Kenji, a medical officer in the nations armed forces, is one of the few in charge of making sure these military puppets don't become defective and do their job accordingly. Robotic, strict, and clean. He's always had a small soft spot in his heart that cares for these puppets because they were once people with emotion and feeling.

A particular puppet that seems to stand out is Yuji. He doesn't act like the other puppets and Kenji sees it. From the slight movements in his eyes, to the tiny bit of hesitation of when he's ordered to do something. Kenji is intrigued.

So intrigued that he decides it's best to risk getting himself killed just to learn who Yuji really is. Is it really worth it in the end?
