When we read a sad poem we might think that the poet is a person with that kind of personality - melancholic and drowning in agony. 
When we read a motivating poem, we might think that the Poet is an achiever who surpassed all hurdles and reached the apex of success hence, motivating others to strive, too. 
Different poems that we all read, it incites in oneself a lot of questions regarding the person  who wrote it. 

Is he happy? Or sad? 
Is he in agony? 
Is he broken? 
Is he in love? 
Were his feelings unrequited? 
Is he an optimist or a pessimist? 

And many more.

I'm posting this looking for some feedback. Any constructive criticism will be greatly appreciated. Writing has always provided me with solace, by helping me to sort through and frame my emotional experience. During one of the more difficult times in my life--recognizing a toxic marriage and leaving--I used writing to understand what was happening. The poems, short stories, and essays here reflect my fragmented journey toward mental health. Works of art, they are not. However, I hope they can help others with their own journeys, even if only to provide comfort in knowing that they are not alone. Hurt and frightened and no where to turn except for my journal. Curse words being streamed at me and you would have thought I had a father for a sailor. ~E.M.C Many poems focusing on the subject of Mental Illness, that many suffer with and the subject just isn't brought up enough. Poems focusing on a day in the shoes of a person with a mental illness and how some even ordinary simple tasks may seem not so simple to them.
