Young River stumbled upon a whole while alone on a sunny morning. As days pasted, he noticed the hole grew and grew. He started to see people in the hole, who grew along with it. The weird thing was, no-one else seemed to notice. Even when River pointed the hole, which was now very big with a mound of dirt at the center, out to someone, they looked at it and asked why he was so excited over a small hole. When he looks back at the hole, all that is there is a small dip. He soon starts to visit the hole alone, slowly starting to hang out in it more commonly. He starts to discover the many secrets and ways of the magical underground society.

Many centuries ago, an unspoken darkness swept across the land taking all that was light and pure in the world with it. Creatures of this darkness roamed free to spread the darkness wherever they went consuming any trace of light remaining. In order to stop The Darkness from controlling the world, a group of priests took the remaining pieces of light and placed them within the body of two chosen children. They became known as the Children of the Light. Their sacrifice was not in vain, leaving behind spoken words for the next generation of children born with the pure light energy within them. Present day we find ourselves in a small city named New Haeven that has become the centre of the secret world of light and dark.The current story follows a Guardian by the name of Ronin. Ronin saw the faces of the new Children of the Light and was tasked by the Elders to track them down and protect them at all costs.The children were both college students and were one male and one female whose names were James Hillman and Sara Danvers..When Ronin went to see he ran into a ghost from his past, Lillian. The story continues on with Ronin seeking answers from the Elders about how a Guardian could come back from the dead.

It drastically changed her nation (drying up the Mississippi, slowing interstate trade to a standstill, making drinkable water a concern, forcing the nation to reroute a whole major waterway-not to mention the dumping and jumpers) but the child herself couldn't understand any of that. This made her nightmares all the more remarkable-though no one would know it, at the time. When the world ended, she was left with "the bad man" Alder Nahimana as her sole guardian. She was raised in the void of space as "the only people left alive". But there were more humans out there-and once her guardian passed, she sets out to find them, accidentally becoming crucial to the preservation of her mankind along the way. Not bad for a child whose world ended when she was 5.
