We follow a nameless protagonist who suffers from a bipolar disorder. Whereas he likes to live a solitary life wherein he can control things to ensure a stable footing that allows him to more easily pave the way of improvement, his mental alter ego is the exact opposite of him. Sometimes there are gaps in time he can't seem to remember until he consults his inner voice to find answers. Yet this half is clinging to his mind, growing like a tumor that gets fed and grows every time it's used. As the protagonist struggles with this compulsive and careless side of him, his friend Abigail Van Houten suffers from a clinical depression. The two of them frequently spend time together because they feel like they can be their true selves without being judged for it, yet the real reason why he spends time with Abigail is because he finds her misery and suffering oddly comforting: there's a sense of numbness that overcomes him when he experiences how much worse his condition could have been. Both the protagonist and Abigail are walking on a ledge that grows thinner and thinner the further they travel alongside it, yet they must depend on each other to keep themselves from falling into the seemingly endless abyss. They're playing with fire, but would you rather burn of freeze to death? That choice is theirs to make.

Abigail

(In editing) She's depressed. She's anorexic. She's suicidal. She's insecure. Abigail has grown up with her three brothers and James, never meeting her parents, who abandoned her at birth. Her brothers were left to take care of her and keep a roof over their heads. Everyday they struggle to take care of Abigail, while working to keep them in their home. Life for them is hard. Life for Abigail is even harder. She has a dark mind and not by choice. Somewhere along the way she's developed these feelings of loneliness and hopelessness. Everyday is a struggle for her and just getting out of bed is a success. She meets Zach, a bad boy with a bad reputation. He starts off as a tutor, just to help her out, out of pity. But eventually feelings get involved and Abigail finds herself liking a boy for the first time in her life. Things get serious and she somehow learns about his drug dealing business. Everything gets hectic and Abigail doesn't know what to do with her life anymore. Or if she even wants to live.
