Lizz is an orphan who has been trapped all her life under the service of Blade, living a life of stealing and lies. She has a secret that the whole town doesn't know: she is a girl in disguise, masquerading as a boy. Until she meets James, she continues being the unhappy orphan controlled by the cruel Master Blade at the Better Boys orphanage with very little freedom. Join James, Lizz, and Tabby as the adventure begins and danger increases. When Lizzie is apprenticed to the playwright, Shakespeare, there are secrets that have been kept from Lizz that even she doesn't know yet.

After my escape, and yet another but brutal last year at the same high school, my school sent me their condolences and made sure to inform my future college of my past.
