Plucked out of a countryside orphanage at age three for government experimentation, Ivy Dowell is not the average 17 year-old. She, like four others, has been injected with a drug, Phenomenon, that links the left and right (creative and cognitive) sides of the brain. With both sides connected to each other, thought becomes reality for Ivy and her fellow assassins-in-training. One day, a letter arrives from the English government telling the test subjects that funding for their program has ceased and that they will be relocated and given new lives.
Ivy has never been away from the cottage that she learned to control her abilities at, so the move is hard for her. To add to that, the drug that gives her the abilities she possesses also makes her mind extremely volatile. She could mentally deconstruct at any moment, endangering everyone and everything around her.
Add a handsome young English gentleman named Basil to the mix, and you have "The London Bridge is Falling."

It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in. Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. This book has a slightly darker outlook at the beginning than my usual stories, but it has some humor further along.
