"The stars are really pretty tonight," she said without even looking at me. I quickly glanced at the sky before my gaze was once again drawn to the person in front of me.

"What are you doing?" I asked cautiously.

"Isn't it kinda obvious? I'm watching the stars."

The breeze gently blew the leaves around us. The shadows they created danced across her face when she looked at me. That's when I realized how pretty she actually was.

"Do I know you?" I questioned her carefully. I still had no idea what she was doing in my backyard.

She once again leaned her head back against the trunk of the tree, closing her eyes, before answering, "Don't think so."

"Do you know me?"

"Nope."

I had no idea why the fact that she had just been caught in some stranger's backyard didn't faze her at all. Most people didn't randomly show up on other people's properties without an invite and when they did, it would technically be considered trespassing. But she didn't seem the slightest bit worried that I might call the police.

"Then, uh, why are you in my tree house?"

"Here, let me help.." I suddenly felt Trevor's warm presence behind me. My eyes watched as he slowly trailed his hands down my arms. Tingles flying in every part of my body as his hot breath fanned my soft skin, whispering "Ready?" into my ear. I slowly nodded, his hands landed on top of mine, both of us now holding the shovels handle. His chin rested on my shoulder, his manly cologne filling my nostrils. I bit down hard on my lip as his thumb gently traced my hand before slowly pulling the shovel up into the air, his grip on my hands tightened as we brought it down, instantly breaking the soil to pieces. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spoilt and used to getting her own way, Adriana is in for a shock when her parents decide to send her to a small town to live with her Grandparents for the summer. Grace and Colton have known each other forever. Living in houses right beside the other, in a small quaint town in West Virginia, they went to school together, birthday partys together, vacations together, and apparently, even family reunions together. It's summer break, the last summer they have before they go to University. When Grace and her mother get invited to a family reunion from a distant cousin, they accept. As Grace is packing her bags for the summer long trip to the country-side in Alabama, her mother tells her that she invited Colton and his mom to come along for the trip, since it's their last summer together. What will happen when they have to stay in the same cabin as each other? Will they maybe become more than "just friends"? _________________________________________________________________ He looks down at me, as i look up. Our eyes meet, and a chill runs up my spine, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. He tilts my chin up, and moves his head so that his lips are brushing my ear as he says, "You've got a little something on your lips, darling." My breathing hitches from our proximity, from his words. "Do I?" I manage to breathe out. He nods slowly, and then inches closer to my face. By now, we are only a few centimeters apart. His sweet honey eyes look from my eyes to my lips, and back to my eyes. "Wh-What's on my-" I stutter out as i move my hand up to touch my lips. Before i can finish my sentence, he grabs my wrist, and places my hand on the side of his neck. "Only the most beautiful shade of pink I've ever seen."

"Yeah, I was born in August so naturally my parents thought it was a perfect name," I rolled my eyes for emphasis. "It gets annoying after a while though." As soon as August finishes her sophomore year in high school, her father sells their house and moves the family into their rental home on Rock Rose Beach. Faced with this new change, August longs for friendship, especially when she meets her next-door neighbor Jacob. "Well, I think it's a pretty name," he smiled again, which made his whole face light up. He stared at me for a minute more before asking, "I feel like I recognize you from somewhere, have we met before?" As her 17th birthday draws nearer, August begins to recall a past summer spent at the beach with Jacob when she was little. But was their closeness a thing of the past, or will she be able to rekindle what they might have had before?
