The Separation (#Wattys2016)

17 year old Michael Anderson used to have a good life, two loving parents, two little sisters who looked up to him, everything anyone could have asked for, right? Well 'used to' is the key word there, isn't it?

He USED to have a good life, until his dad started to drink and became an alcoholic. That's when everything went down the toilet. Now he has to live with an alcoholic dad, who comes home late every night arguing with his mom. And because his mom seems to have given up on life, Michael has had to take her place to take care of his two little sisters, Angie and Emma.

Now looking at this scenario, one would think it couldn't get worse, but what happens when your dad's drunkenness is taken a little too far one night and suddenly everything you loved is being threatened to be taken away?

Now Michael is left with having to fight to keep a hold of everything he loves. Not to mention, he is left with trying to figure out the reason behind his father's sudden turn to alcohol. He starts to question the reason behind his father's actions and begins to wonder if there is more to the story than meets the eye...
