This story is a work in progress, and has been for a few years now (darn writers block). I felt that it is now at a point where it can be read but it is far from finished. Please feel free to make any comments, good and bad, on how I can improve on this book.

She spent her entire life in servitude, raised to believe she was just ordinary - an insignificant speck in a world she's always been sheltered from. But one fated encounter is about to change her mundane existence forever, and she's all too willing to answer the call of her destiny. --------------------------------------------- Abandoned as an infant, Sahera has spent all her days at the beck and call of Mother Lucine, the matron of the convent she was raised in. Suffering exclusion and abuse from both her maternal figure and her sisters, she copes with the belief that this is the debt she owes. Keeping her head down makes her day to day more bearable, and as long as she has food and shelter, she shouldn't want for more. Still, she can't help but feel she doesn't belong in the slightest. It isn't until she meets the mysterious yet generous Roman that she begins to question if there's more to this miserable existence of hers. The last thing she expects is to be completely uprooted from her world and thrust into the treacherous yet beautiful reality he lives in. The mission he's on, accompanied by his four beautiful and intimidating guardians, seems like something beyond her wildest dreams. It certainly feels like fantasy when he reveals the role she supposedly plays in his life. Sahera eagerly rises to the challenge, but with ferocious foes she's never seen the likes of at every turn, crushing secrets ready to unfold, and her enigmatic past waiting to be revealed just on the horizon, will she be able to withstand all the trials and tribulations?

There are more threats out here than we anticipated, and they're all after you-" Lukas' voice erupted into static and chunks... I glared at the man in all black as the light continued to beam and blind me. Without my glasses it was actually painful. And then there was silence. My bare feet hit the metal floor of wherever we had jumped to, and I put my hand up to shield my eyes from the vicious attack of bright light. Not again." Not so long ago, humanity fought the gods above them. The war against the Ethereals was long and bloody, and only the discovery of magic saved humanity from total annihilation. With the fusion of magic and technology, they clawed their way to a stalemate; in time, the war was over. Humanity had secured their freedom...or so they thought. The Ethereal War changed life on Earth forever. The world is now plagued by glyphstorms-- constant, magic-infused dust storms that drive those who linger too long to insanity. Traveling within them is thought to be impossible, and the only shelter comes in the form of magical shield domes over humanity's cities. Progress is rapid, yet isolated to pockets of civilization. In the same world where some people thrive, many others struggle, their spirits kept alive only by the hope of a better future. But the future is uncertain; until humanity can discover the secrets of shield tech and brave the storms that divide them, they will never be truly free. ------- This is a collection of short stories that take place within Solace, a fictional science-fantasy setting I have been working on since January 2025. This is not the mainline story, but may involve side plots, alternate perspectives of story events, etc. Basically this is my way of getting back into writing on Wattpad and having a catch-all for any short stories related to Solace. This will be updated as I go, and I'd love to hear feedback! [This cover is a placeholder and I don't take credit for the art. It was taken from a copyright-free source]

Centuries after the Fall, the United States has been wiped away. The crumbling remains of the great American empire are home now only to savage, lawless tribes and packs of ravening Damned-the twisted children of the apocalypse. Most of those few who survived humanity's destruction spend their short lives in a violent struggle for survival. But some light still flickers in the darkness: the Blessed of Bountiful live in seclusion, relying on walls both physical and spiritual to protect them from the Desolation that their world has become. Among them are the Saints, those few men and women born with superhuman abilities that the Blessed see as gifts from God. The violent apostate tribes of the Northeast Kingdom have always been a danger, but up until recently its small size and the vigilance of its people have made Bountiful an unappealing target. As attacks on the community grow harsher and more frequent, however, even the steadfast Blessed are forced to start preparing for the worst. With her home's very existence threatened, seventeen year old Ever Oaks, a Saint with the power to heal, is forced to make a difficult choice, one that may come to define her people's future... Exile was a semi-finalist in Mark Lawrence's Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off (#SPFBO). Fantasy Faction said it was "extremely cool," and Bookish Lifestyle called it "more than just a story, a journey and an experience." When I'm asked about it, I often describe it as "X-Men meets The Walking Dead." In addition to reading it here for free, you can buy Exile in e-book or paperback on Amazon.com.

[Automatic translation] "It is now that the legend will end... " [REWRITE/CORRECTION] Once upon a time, in a very distant future, surely at what seems to be the end of time, lived two beings who knew neither Adam nor Eve, and whose races were opposed. They were to find themselves confronted with the eternal enemy of humanity who, sealed, had plunged the world into darkness. Both of them were bound by a legend that was more than five thousand years old. ~~~ While he had just defeated an umpteenth monster to find his mother's killer, the Hero, by a combination of circumstances, finds himself locked up in the jails of a kingdom hostile to human beings: Sylvania. He meets a wingless, nameless fairy who helps him get out of there and much more. To thank her, he will register as a representative of this fairy who is one of the princesses of this kingdom, during a tournament to choose the next queen of Sylvania. During this one, he will have to face the cruelty of the other participants, the distress of the needy and their representative: Malalalivia Grave, and will have to confront a sect that wants to bring back to life an ancient evil queen of Sylvania who terrorized the kingdom once upon a time. A spin-off of the Imaginary Flame.
