Contained within is the diary of Li Song, daughter of a Chinese merchant. In the Summer of 1899, she is visiting England with her father for a business venture, when she has a chance encounter with the illustrious Victoria Bellamy of France, and the two become fast friends, perhaps a little more. But everything changes for Song when Victoria mysteriously vanishes, leaving only a small message about her farewell. Even worse, it's not just Victoria who's gone missing, the memories of her are slowly starting to fade as well from all who knew her, including Song. Desperate to hold onto the memory of her and discover the truth, Song follows in Victoria's fading footprints, seeking answers.
