Alice 'River' St.Clair lives in the small town of Shadowclaw, South Carolina population 2,500 time stands still there Alice, her family and few others knows why they know the true reason Shadowclaw was founded by the St.Clair's way back in 1665; Shadowclaw was founded for hunters it was a place for them to rest whenever they wanted it was place they settle down once they retired . River has a secret she's a Castor her family are Castor hunters living in a town with founded on one thing 'killing Castors' especially when her family is the family that founded it.
keeping her secret has been easy by using a cover spell that she has to renew each year other than that all she has to do is not use her magic and help her family and fellow Castor hunters rid of other Castors.
Insert James Joshua a hunter as well he can smell a Castor a mile away also because hes part werewolf :a hybrid he and River have grown up together every hunter knows hes a Hybrid he doesn't turn every full moon being a hybrid he only turns when he wants he does so frequently to help sniff out the Castor's near Shadowclaw he's been smelling one lately but he cant find who it is the stronger the Castor the stronger their scent the one hes been smelling has been faint over the years always with him like a cologne that never fades but its been getting stronger and stronger he can't tell the other hunters without having a face to put the smell to. his fellow hunters knows something is up with him he cant help but notice that whenever River is around the scent fades and he's at the top of his hunter game; he's determined to find this Castor and kill it himself.
he tries to surround himself with River so that he can focus on finding this particular Castor. River thinks that he's onto her and she fears for her life they play a game of cat and mouse both being the cat and mouse both determined to get what they want the goal is to outsmart the other
life over sanity which is more important?
