Eric has worked very hard over his years of being a reaper. He has had many ups and downs, such as his much loved Alan passing away. He toughed it all out, no matter how much it hurt. The thought of him meeting Alan in the afterlife being the only thing keeping him going. And today is the day he is released from his work as a shinigami. He finally gets to move on. He is finally allowed his death.
