Black ash clouded the night sky as my lungs burned. The gnawing fear licked my mind as we ran from our towards the village gates.

Our only exit from the once safe haven.

Flames gnawed mercilessly at the homes and markets that made our village home, now destined to ruin and ash. Shrieks of terror were heard, from those lost to the flames and those that ran in hopes of saving what little they now had.

Adrenaline pumped through my veins as my father ran before me, trying his best to ensure our safety and that we remained close together.

We ran to the overtowering village exit.

Towards the gates.

Towards the gates...

The Gates, that wooden structure, that brought a sense of hope that now turned to dread.

They were sealed closed, locking everyone within...

With the betrayal of those he thought he could trust, Ame is forced to continue onward. With a shared loss of their once safe haven, now laid to blood and ashes, Ame travels with his new companions, Tarrah and Rion, in hopes to move forward.

But fate does everything for a reason.

Now they will learn untold secrets that have always been hidden underneath the surface and find aid in beings they didn't know exist. Learning many powerful things will continue to aid them in getting closer to the truth that was unforeseeable. Among these truths will lie the power of the name.

Names hold power in this world, that even He, chooses to keep hidden from his beloved...

Ame will learn many secrets and with them what it truly means to be mated to the Demonic King.

The Snowy-haired Genius by _Lost-in-stars_

Jason Williams didn't think going out to dinner with his family was going to be any different than usual. Comments about his sexuality, some teasing from his brothers, and lots of paparazzi. You know, nothing strange at all. But a fight with his father made Jason storm out of the restaurant, down an alleyway, and suddenly his life isn't the usual anymore. He woke up in an unfamiliar dark room, and a handsome boy opened his door to explain. The snowy-haired genius was holding him captive until he got what he wanted. Life couldn't be worse. Warning: This book contains mental issues such as depression, schizophrenia, and others. If you're sensitive to that kind of thing, then you should probably think twice before reading this. Of course, if you want to read it and you're sensitive, I'm not stopping you. This book only touches upon the subjects; It doesn't go deep into suicide attempts and voices. Remember despite the hate these mental illnesses receive, I believe you. Mental illnesses are no joke, they're not something I try to use for views. I am not hating on the illnesses. I know it's hard, but they are relevant to the book so I had to include them. If you're feeling depressed, please talk to a counsellor. Or, if you're too scared for that, I'll happily listen and give you advice. Thank you! (I needed to include this because I didn't want people thinking I thought the mental illnesses were stupid. I don't, I promise. I love you, and I need you to keep fighting!)

Growing up in chaos isn't simple for all. Not many could cope. They would struggle and kick, but ultimately drown. However, for Dakota, that was his normality. Torturing. Maiming. Killing. That was his life, the life of a hunter. The Arizona line was elusive, written fame in the lore of hunters, and infamy for their prey. They were the best. No one could ever compare to their skills, their abilities, their ruthlessness. But Dakota was something else. His siblings might have learnt to enjoy the hunt, well most of them anyway, but Dakota didn't. There was always something missing for him, something he was waiting on. Silent and everlasting hope. A promise had been made to him, the day his twin brother was stolen, taken by the enemy, plucked right from the very home the Arizonas had grown up in. A promise of something better, something that he might actually want in his life. Now, almost sixteen years later, something was coming. A change was begging to be found. Maybe it would be for the best. Maybe Dakota would finally find that certain something that had been missing his whole life, something to fill the dark and fractured abyss that ached and wailed within. But nothing was ever that simple. Because, of course, the promise that had been made to Dakota would never be anything plausible for him, anything tangible to have and to hold. He had been promised a new life, by the greatest enemy of them all. It wouldn't be easy. Not with his family still clinging to his heels, the teachings of blood and violence burnt into his mind. No, leaving them behind wouldn't ever be easy. Then again, staying with them would only bring his inevitable death. Why not take the chance to die happy? After all, out of the ashes, a phoenix will rise...

" Let's keep this on the down-low. Nobody has to know. " He cooed in my ear, pushing up on me like a dog in heat. " I'm quick to cut a nigga off, so don't get comfortable. " I smirked, pushing his face back with my palm. He continued to pursue me knowing he had a secret of his own. I liked the way he set his eyes upon me and determined he'd have me. He made me feel comfort in all areas that I'd lacked before. There was something burning in the back of my mind... was he really mines? We only spoke late night, and those conversations were brief.
