Claire is just a girl. Other than being a werewolf, she is. She's not in a pack, nor is she a rouge. She is just an ordinary girl who just happens to be a werewolf. Totally different. She also knows nothing about herself, seeing as though nobody else in her family is a werewolf. And she just thinks it's normal. Again, knows nothing about werewolves.
