In early 2012, my dad was asked to participate in the collection of essays, Write for the Fight. Partial proceeds for the collection go toward breast cancer research. The collection included four life questions including, “What would you tell your twenty year old self?” I thought it’d be fun to write a piece based on that question, since, at the time, I had a different perspective, being not yet twenty.

At the age of 4 I was visited by Polio. A medical error followed, a trip abroad, four operations, my anisoscelia. Thus I got my Disability, a trip with difficulties, a beautiful journey though. At the age of 38 I was visited by Lung Cancer, another surgery. The journey continued with new obstacles and with the happiness of Paternity, where I experienced the surgery that my son underwent at the age of 10 days! The loss of my work and a new professional journey experience my true Story, the events that led to the formation of my Shield. The narrative of the events of my life has been painful as the body has memory, delightfully wonderful the experiential process of writing proved. A script created by Life for Life.Complete
