Alicia Meyers has just gone through an unexpected, trouble break-up. Still hung over her ex-boyfriend, Thomas Garcia, she has to slump through summer in total devastation. After just turning 16, she decides to get a summer job that goes on into the school year. When seeing Thomas in almost every class and in her theatre career, she gets fed up on seeing how great he is doing with his life. One day at work, she asks her 18 year old co-worker, James Ray, if he wouldn't mind being her fake boyfriend to make Thomas jealous. James agrees to playing along with her game, but will it continue to be a game as they learn more about each other? Will James develop feelings? Will Alicia end up with Thomas once again?
